Crystal Castles

I've always been a huge fan and a slight sucker for a beautiful front woman; I'm afraid Alice Glass of Crystal Castles takes the cake. Oh yeah, and her music is rad too. A lo-fi electronic duo from our badass neighbors in Ontario, Canada.

Yeasayer

Yeasayer played two shows in Austin over the weekend. We were the lucky ones as this is the only city they are playing twice on their current tour. It was hands down my favorite show of the year. Afterward we went to their DJ set at Lambert's. That was average at best. I highly recommend checking these guys out if you get a chance.

It comes out tomorrow 3/9/10. Broken bells will be performing SXSW Wednesday the 17th 11:00pm @Stubbs. Should be just about perfect as The Walkmen come on around 8:45 followed by Spoon at 12:15. Mark Linkous

Sparklehorse.. Truly one of the all time greats! His lyrics could be spoken with no music and still blow your mind. The statement left by Marks family was pretty amazing; “We are thankful for his time with us and will hold him forever in our hearts. May his journey be peaceful, happy and free. There’s a heaven and there’s a star for you.”
He died at 47.
Sparklehorse-Sad And Beautiful World
To me, Sparklehorse always sounded like October. Or at least how October felt in Ohio. Beautiful, but sort of sad, knowing that Summer was over and winter was looming...the last of the bright colors, muted and fuzzy. But still the prettiness lingers. That is what October looks like in Ohio, and what Sparklehorse sounds like.
